The most pressing parenting issue I am facing right now, aside from the absolute idiocy which is the other drivers my children are sharing the roads with, is the prospect of my son being drafted to go fight some war none of us want anything to do with. I have already told the baby momma that I will break his leg if it comes down to it. She did not appreciate the hyperbole.
The hyperbole was mild though. I would do anything to keep my children safe including going to prison or disappearing into the jungles of South America. This is both a testament of my love for my kids and my absolute distaste for the government. Not just all of the governance I am subject to, but all governments everywhere throughout time.
I fucking hate the concept.
I am an anarchist. This does not mean I want to loot and set fires. It means I don’t believe I need someone else having power over me trying to force me to act how they think I should act. I don’t need god or government to know how to be a decent human being that doesn’t rape or kill or make life miserable for other humans. Granted I am well aware not every human on the planet can be free range so I can see the need for governance at scale, but in terms of my life?
Leave me the fuck alone.
I understand people will delve into the dark triad. I am aware that the person willing to be violent and merciless will take advantage if there isn’t a more powerful and benevolent force to stop them. I am up to speed on the reality that anarchism is not practical, that there needs to be some agreed upon laws, an ethical or moral framework on which to measure against, but any time an entity is granted power, that power is abused.
Government thrives on Stockholm Syndrome. People have been a victim of government their entire lives and may not even realize it. They think only a government can provide roads and libraries, protection from the terrorists and an opportunity to buy expensive handbags. They believe government has their best interests in mind and all problems can be solved if only the government would step in and take care of it.
News flash. Government creates more problems than it solves.
Of course I am speaking of the United States system, both because it is the one I know most intimately and also it is considered to be the “best”. It is supposed to be a Constitutional Republic, but I don’t think any of our current members can even spell constitution. At this point the United States government is just a money laundering engine driving a surveillance van.
A surveillance van with window tint above 50% because you know. Laws for thee and not for me.
In my mind government is just violence wearing a suit. If you don’t believe that, just disobey the government and see how they react. You can go quietly into the cage but if you don’t comply? Violence right up the exit port. Government will take your money, it will take your kids, it will take your freedom, and if they want to they will take your life.
But aren’t the roads in your town so very nice? How about the schools? Crime? How do you like going to the DMV? How’s your Social Security looking? Had any conversations with the IRS lately? How is your purchasing power nowadays? How’s your drinking water? Your air? I mean thank god for those nutrition labels right? Our food system is just amazing right?
Right?
I need to not get caught up in this. My blood pressure is already too high. I merely have that oldster predicament of having seen the game played for long enough to understand it. People get all excited by the prospect of some new leader that is somehow going to be on the side of the average American.
They promise.
Then the same old shit keeps happening. War. Inflation. Rich getting richer. Poor getting poorer. Scandal this. Distraction that. The puppet dances for the masses. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain and instead, look at how nice the emperors clothes are. We are the government. We have the power and we are smarter than you. National security and stuff.
Pick a name. Pick a face. Pick a R or D of your choice. Just a troop of liars who lie lies with their lie hole. They would all sell your children to the pedophile elite and send the young men to go die in a desert if it meant one more day in office. They are fucking demons. They have you fooled because oh this guy says the right thing, or that girl did something good once or twice.
It is the nature of people who want to be in control. No matter how benevolent they seem they are selfish, power hungry parasites who pass laws and force you at the end of a gun to pay for their existence. You are paying for all of this. With your money, with your time, with your attention, and in some cases with your lives.
The game sucks and I want to stop playing.
Mostly though, I don’t want to have to worry about my sons future. I want his life to be his. I don’t want him to be forced into a life he doesn’t want because governments refuse to tell the truth and cooperate toward the betterment of all humanity regardless of border. The shit is childish. It’s 2026 for fucks sake and we are still fighting over the interpretation of scribbles on animal skins from thousands of years ago.
Whatever.

Oh, you mean how government regulated drugs and allowed pharma to create the opioid epidemic? Or how they regulated the banks and nearly destroyed the entire world economy? Or maybe all those regulations that led to almost 1400 Superfund sites? The oil industry is heavily regulated but we have probably all forgotten the Exxon Valdez and Deepwater Horizon.
In response the government assures us there will be better regulation moving forward. That is until someone has enough money to get people to look the other way. If at all. More likely congresspeople will argue and name call each other and do nothing while everyone is distracted by the latest tikytoky dance challenge. It’s easy to blame government, but I blame you.
Fucking phone addicts the lot of you.
I know. I have some things in my algorithm to cleanse the pallet. Sure they are doing it for the views so they can get paid, but there are people out there who see a problem and take it upon themselves to manage it. One guy likes to clear storm drains. Another does lawn maintenance in public areas that have been ignored. Another clears trash and debris from waterways.
They are engaging in acts of anarchy. No government entity is telling them they can or cannot do these things. Luckily their actions are helping the broader community. There are a lot of systems that shirk the government in favor of direct human assistance. It is more efficient, more effective, and usually has a stronger and more lasting impact.
The issue comes when Government forces their way in. There are plenty of resources dedicated to natural disasters in the private sector who are willing and able to respond, and they do so without all the paperwork. Then the government complains that they are being made to look bad, I mean, the regular people aren’t following some law or rule or whatever, then some three letter agency comes along to stop the aid.
It’s a cancer. Most of what the government does is give more work for the government to do. Fill out this paper and talk to that person. They will give you another piece of paper that you need to take to this other building and talk to this whole other person. They will give you another paper that you then take over here to get signed by this additional person, then bring the paper they give you back to me.
During business hours.
While you are probably working.
And not at lunch time or holidays.
Oh, and each paper will probably cost you some money to get signed.
Don’t forget we charge extra to run a credit card for some reason in 2026 when no one carries cash anymore.
Also no more pennies because cash is going to disappear.
